Job Requirements:

  • Pet experience
  • Driver's license & 18 years old
  • Insured vehicle & health insurance
  • Must live within 15 minutes of our office in Bowie, MD 20715
  • Pet First Aid & CPR certified
  • App use
  • Be detail-oriented, follow directions & be pro-active

Duties:

- Walk dogs & visit pets at their homes on a regular basis, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Provide safe exercise and mental stimulation for dogs during walks & pets during visits
- Follow specific instructions provided by owners regarding their pets' needs and preferences
- Keep accurate records of each visit/walk, including distance, duration, and any notable observations
- Monitor pets for signs of distress or illness and report any concerns to the business & owner
- Clean up after pets during walks/visits and dispose of waste properly
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with clients and their pets
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while handling dogs/pets

Skills:

- Animal care: Knowledge of basic animal care practices and understanding of dog behavior
- Customer service: Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide exceptional customer service to clients
- Pocket Pets: Experience working with small caged pets or other animals (preferred but not required)
- Dog training: Basic knowledge of dog training techniques and ability to reinforce positive behaviors during walks
- Pet sitting: Experience caring for pets in the absence of their owners, including feeding, watering, and administering medication (if necessary)
- Dog handling: Ability to safely handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments during walks
- Pet care: Understanding of the needs of different types of pets and ability to provide appropriate care
- Veterinary: Familiarity with common health issues in dogs and ability to recognize signs of illness or injury
- Heavy lifting: Ability to lift heavy objects such as bags of dog food or crates (if necessary)

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
