Door Staff (Greeter / Security)

We are looking for experienced door greeter / security staff for our pub and restaurant in downtown Burlington, VT, that will act as a friendly face at the front door whilst maintaining a "safe service" environment for both guests and staff! Weekend night availability (Thursday - Saturday 9.30pm-2am/3am) along with some holidays is required for this position. $18 per hour + $$$ Door %.

Who You Are
- You enjoy interacting and connecting with guests
- You can deal effectively with potentially confrontational situations, using a heightened level of communication skills to bring them to a suitable conclusion, to protect both the business and the guest
- You take pride in your position and in the quality of service and hospitality that you provide
- You understand “Genuine” hospitality
- You ideally have experience in a security position within a high-volume bar / restaurant setting
- You ideally have TIPs alcohol procedures certification, alongside any State or County required license requirements for the service of alcohol

What You Will be Doing
- Greeting guests on arrival with a warm and friendly welcome
- “Carding” (ID’ing) everyone that looks under 35 years of age and ensures that no one enters the building without a valid ID as applicable to the time segment
- Ensuring that any person that is visibly intoxicated is denied entrance
- Managing guest issues, and potential guest issues, to best protect and ensure the safety of all guests and employees as well as the protection of the business
- Completing safety & security walk thru(s) of the building to ensure no issues that may impact guest and / or employee safety (e.g. spills, broken glass, potentially intoxicated guests, building is clear of patrons at the end of the night etc.)
- Ensuring that all local and state laws are followed as related to the service of alcohol to include, but not limited to, ID’ing standards, over serving, hours of permitted service (last call etc.) and guests not entering / exiting the building with alcohol containers
