What you’ll do

• You will create new OSP network designs in various applications/software.
• You will develop and issue work prints for OSP Telecom networks.
• You will collaborate with Engineering and Construction.
• You will coordinate with permitting agencies.
• You will create funding documents/work packages listing applicable units, bill of materials and applicable purchase requisitions.
• You will ensure designs of facilities are performed in accordance with Company vsystem practices, RUS requirements and requirements of Federal, State and local governing authorities
• You will provide any documentation required for the cost-effective placement of communication facilities

What you’ll need

• You will have 4+ years of Telecom OSP Design/Engineering Experience

• You will have a working knowledge of the telecommunications industry standards, practices, and regulations pertaining to the engineering of outside plant facilities

• You will have knowledge of aerial, buried and underground construction methods and engineering requirements

• You will have knowledge of fiber optic counts, fiber assignments and splicing schematics in a high-density fiber environment is strongly preferred.

• You will have knowledge of Fiber to the Home and Fiber to the Building is preferred.

• You will be familiar with general permitting requirements for State Department of Transportation, as well as other state, county, and city permitting agencies

• You will have a working knowledge of OSP Communications Design systems.

• You will have a working knowledge with applications such as NDS, FROGS, AutoCAD, Fireworks, Bidmaster, Infinium and/or Varasset is preferred.

• You will have strong organizational skills and experience with Excel and Word

• You will be able to effectively communication skills and professional accountability

• You will have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor's Degree preferred in a related industry.
