Drafting & Document Control Engineer

Job Summary

The Engineering Drafting & Document Control Engineer is responsible for preparing and developing detailed engineering and shop drawings using approved CAD/BIM software, while simultaneously managing and controlling all project documentation in accordance with established document control procedures.

The role ensures drawing accuracy, revision control, proper documentation flow, compliance with technical specifications, and effective coordination between technical and administrative teams.

Education Requirement :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following disciplines:
  • Architectural Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • or a related Engineering field

Preferred Certifications

  • Autodesk AutoCAD
  • Autodesk Revit
  • BIM Fundamentals
  • Document Control System Certification
  • CAPM

Key Responsibilities:

A) Technical / Drafting Responsibilities

  • Prepare and develop shop drawings and detailed execution drawings.
  • Revise drawings based on consultant/client comments and approvals.
  • Coordinate drawings across multiple disciplines.
  • Issue drawings for review, approval, and construction.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.

B) Document Control Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the project document log.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, and official correspondence.
  • Implement revision control procedures.
  • Ensure proper electronic filing and document archiving.
  • Monitor document flow to ensure timely approvals.
  • Support quality assurance and ISO compliance processes.

Experience Requirement

  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in engineering drafting and project document control.
  • Proven experience in execution projects.
  • Experience in government or technically demanding projects is an advantage.
