DRAFTING MANAGER (LANDSCAPE AND CIVIL)

Job Title: Drafting Manager (Landscape & Civil)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Landscape & Civil Drafting Manager to lead and manage drafting operations for landscape architecture and civil engineering projects. This role is responsible for overseeing technical drafting standards, managing a team of drafters, coordinating with designers and engineers, and ensuring high-quality, accurate, and timely construction documents.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the landscape and civil drafting team, including workload distribution, scheduling, and performance development
• Review and approve civil and landscape construction drawings for accuracy, compliance, and quality
• Develop, maintain, and enforce CAD/BIM standards, templates, and workflows
• Coordinate closely with landscape architects, civil engineers, planners, and project managers
• Ensure drawings comply with local codes, regulations, and client requirements
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to drafting staff
• Support project planning, deadlines, and deliverables across multiple projects
• Assist with QA/QC processes and resolve drafting or design coordination issues
• Stay current with drafting technology, software updates, and industry best practices

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Landscape Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 10 years of experience in civil and/or landscape drafting
• 5-8 years in a leadership or management role preferred
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred); experience with BIM software is a plus
• In-depth knowledge of civil site design, grading, drainage, utilities, and landscape construction documentation
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a Contracting, engineering, or landscape architecture firm
• Familiarity with municipal permitting and approval processes
• Experience with Revit, SketchUp, or other 3D modeling tools
• Professional certification or licensure is a plus
