Job Summary

The Mechanical Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed mechanical drawings, layouts, and plans for construction and engineering projects. The role involves working closely with mechanical engineers, project managers, and site teams to produce accurate technical drawings for HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and other mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
• Develop HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting system layouts according to project requirements.
• Convert concept sketches and engineering designs into detailed technical drawings.
• Revise drawings based on engineer comments and project changes.
• Prepare as-built drawings after project completion.
• Coordinate mechanical drawings with architectural and electrical drawings to avoid clashes.
• Maintain drawing records, revisions, and documentation.
• Ensure drawings comply with local standards and project specifications in Qatar.
• Assist engineers in preparing material take-offs and technical documentation.
• Support the project team during site inspections and technical clarifications when required.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering / Drafting.
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical drafting (preferably in the GCC or Qatar).
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and preferably Revit.
• Knowledge of MEP systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Familiarity with Qatar construction standards and regulations is an advantage.

• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Requirements

• Experience working on commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with BIM modeling.
• Experience in Gulf construction projects.
