Draughtsman (Civil & MEP Shop Drawings)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Draughtsman with experience in preparing shop drawings for both Civil and MEP works. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating accurate, precise, and comprehensive shop drawings that meet project specifications and client requirements. This role requires close collaboration with the design and engineering teams to ensure that all drawings align with project goals and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Shop Drawing Preparation:
• Develop detailed shop drawings for Civil and MEP works, including structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components.
• Ensure drawings are in accordance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
• Convert design concepts into detailed, accurate shop drawings using CAD software.
• Coordination and Collaboration:
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for drawing preparation.
• Review and interpret project specifications, tender documents, and construction plans to ensure accuracy in shop drawings.
• Coordinate with various disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) to ensure integrated and cohesive design solutions.
• Quality Control:
• Perform self-checks and cross-checks of drawings to identify any discrepancies or errors before submission.
• Update and revise drawings based on feedback from the design and engineering teams.
• Maintain proper documentation and version control of all drawings.
• Site Support:
• Provide technical support to the construction team by explaining shop drawings and making necessary adjustments as required.
• Visit project sites to gather information and verify existing conditions as needed.
• Compliance and Standards:
• Ensure that all shop drawings comply with relevant local, national, and international codes, standards, and regulations.
• Keep abreast of industry best practices, new technologies, and software tools relevant to shop drawing preparation.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) is highly preferred.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in preparing shop drawings for Civil and MEP works.
• Proven experience with CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design tools.
• Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes is a plus.
• Skills:
• Strong technical drawing skills with an eye for detail and accuracy.
• Excellent understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods related to Civil and MEP disciplines.
• Ability to interpret and translate design concepts into precise shop drawings.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
