Drayage Dispatcher

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Dispatcher with a strong background in the drayage industry, specifically within the New York/New Jersey port region. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing complex transportation operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of import/export containers. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, have the ability to problem solve, multi-task, and be a great team player.

Responsibilities:

• Schedule appointments with terminals for container pickups
• Scheduling appointments/follow ups with clients
• Assignment of deliveries to drivers
• Manage constant tracking of drivers, ensuring on-time deliveries
• Provide excellent customer service through phone call and email communications with clients and operations teams
• Tracking equipment and updating in our own custom portal
• Tracking and tracing container shipments via terminal portal
• General office and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in dispatch operations within the drayage and logistics transportation industry, with specific knowledge of the New York/New Jersey port region.
• Strong understanding of port operations, terminal procedures, and transportation logistics.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
