Overview:
The Disaster Relief Center Manager is responsible for leading all operational aspects of the Disaster Relief distribution center, including inventory control, staffing, shipping/receiving, and warehouse management. This role ensures that resources are effectively allocated to meet performance, safety, and cost objectives while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the distribution center, including labor scheduling, warehouse management, shipping/receiving, and inventory accuracy.
- Manage resource planning to ensure optimal staffing levels, equipment utilization, and workflow across all shifts.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to drive safety, quality, and productivity.
- Analyze operational data and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors and warehouse staff, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with transportation, procurement, and customer service teams to coordinate inbound and outbound logistics.
- Support strategic projects such as warehouse automation and process redesign.
- Manage operating budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for operational savings.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory, equipment, and safety procedures.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
Minimum Work Experience
- 5+ years of experience in distribution or warehouse operations, with 2+ years in a leadership or management role, preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of inventory management and logistics processes.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage resources in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed.
