Position Summary / Objective

This role is responsible for safely transporting company products and materials while following company policies and all applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations. The driver ensures timely deliveries, proper handling of materials, and accurate documentation of all shipments.

Role Responsibilities

The following duties represent the primary responsibilities of the role. This list is not exhaustive. The individual in this position will perform additional tasks as assigned, adhere to all provisions of the Employee Manual, and participate in company initiatives and projects.

Product Handling & Inventory

  • Ensure that products are loaded, unloaded, and stored according to company standards and procedures.
  • Assist with physical inventories and unloading containers/trucks of incoming product or equipment when needed.

Transportation & Delivery Operations

  • Safely transport company products and materials to designated locations.
  • Plan efficient routes of travel to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Maintain on-time delivery schedules.

Regulatory & Safety Compliance

  • Follow all federal, state, and local traffic laws and transportation regulations.
  • Follow company incident reporting procedures.

Vehicle Maintenance & Inspections

  • Refuel, maintain, and clean company vehicles.
  • Inspect vehicles and record any issues or concerns.
  • Report mechanical problems to maintenance personnel.
  • Complete required vehicle inspection reports including Pre-Trip and Post-Trip documentation through the Company Vehicle Monitoring System.

Documentation & Record-keeping

  • Complete and submit all required paperwork according to company policies, including delivery documentation and inspection reports.
  • Record shipment deliveries and maintain accurate delivery records.
  • Complete expense reports and comply with Company Expense Policy.

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and primarily field-based, involving regular driving, loading and unloading materials, adherence to safety and transportation regulations, and coordination with team members to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.

Physical Demands

The person in this role must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time and stand or walk as needed during loading, unloading, and delivery activities. This role requires driving to multiple locations and venues for extended periods.

The person in this role will frequently work in both indoor and outdoor environments where temperatures may fluctuate from hot to cold and may be exposed to loud noises from equipment or operational activity.

The individual must be able to move throughout warehouse and office environments to complete pre- and post-delivery duties.

This role requires the ability to push, pull, and/or move up to 75–100 pounds frequently, and move freight in and out of vehicles using pallet jacks or other non-motorized equipment supplied by the shipper or receiver.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

The work schedule for this position is variable and will depend on delivery schedules. This may include evening, weekend, and holiday work. All hours worked will comply with local, state, and federal labor laws, and overtime, if required, will be compensated accordingly.

Travel

This position may require frequent travel up to 75% to delivery or event locations. Travel may include daytime, evening, overnight, or multi-day trips.

Required

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to safely load, unload, and transport materials.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to follow directions and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and participate in the Company’s drug and alcohol policy program if required.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check.
  • Ability to maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) upon hire and periodically during employment.
  • Ability to comply with all requirements of the Company Vehicle Monitoring System.

Preferred

  • Previous delivery or commercial driving experience.
  • Experience operating box trucks, cargo vans, or similar delivery vehicles.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
