Driver - Delivery

Job Description

The purpose of a delivery driver is to ensure the timely and efficient transportation of products from the distribution center to various retail outlets and ensuring that products reach the right customers at the right time and in the right condition. The role involves collecting goods, following established delivery schedules, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent customer service. By efficiently managing deliveries.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational

• Executing deliveries to designated locations according to the assigned schedule and route plan.
• Safely loading of the products onto the delivery vehicle and unloading them at the intended delivery points.
• Planning and optimizing delivery routes using HHT device to ensure on-time deliveries and efficient use of fuel and resources.
• Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, including delivery receipts, invoices, and proof of delivery documents.
• Conducting pre-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle to ensure it is in proper working condition and reporting any maintenance issues.
• Providing excellent customer service by interacting with customers during deliveries, addressing their questions or concerns.
• Communicating effectively with the team to provide updates on delivery status or any issues that may arise during the delivery process.
• Following all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure the safe transportation of goods.
• Ensuring the integrity and quality of products during transportation to prevent damages and maintain product quality.
• Resolving any delivery-related issues, such as route delays, damaged goods, or incorrect deliveries, in a timely and effective manner.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications:

• High School Diploma.
  
  

Knowledge & Skill

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assume responsibility for the delivery van and the products.
• With experience in identifying products and GEO locations across the Emirates.
• Ability to use HHT (Hand Held Terminal) device.
  
  

Experience

• With at least 2-3 years of experience as a delivery driver in FMCG or CPG company.
• Responsibily managing on-time deliveries.
• Working knowledge of basic truck maintenance.
• Must have valid UAE driver's license (manual).
