Job Description:
Tiny Traveler Transportation, LLC is seeking a reliable, safety-conscious, and compassionate Driver to join our team. In this role, you are more than just a driver; you are a vital link in ensuring children reach their medical appointments safely, punctually, and with care. You will lead the transport team, working alongside a Bus Assistant to provide a secure and supportive environment for our young passengers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the company vehicle to transport children to and from medical appointments and other designated locations.
- Ensure the vehicle is operated in strict accordance with all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
- Oversee the proper boarding, seating, and unloading of all passengers, ensuring car seats and safety restraints are used correctly.
- Maintain clear communication with the Bus Assistant, dispatch, and parents/guardians regarding pick-up and drop-off timing.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in safe, working condition.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior at all times.
- Complete accurate trip logs and documentation as required by NEMT standards.
- Comply with all company policies, including strict adherence to our drug and alcohol testing program.
Job Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License: Must be in good standing (CDL is not required, but a clean driving record is mandatory).
- Safe Driving History: A proven track record of safe driving with no major recent violations.
- Experience: Previous experience in professional driving or NEMT is preferred; experience working with children is a major plus.
- Patient & Professional: Ability to remain calm and professional while navigating traffic and interacting with children who may have special needs.
- CPR and First Aid Certification: (Training will be provided if not currently certified).
- Child Safety Training: (Training will be provided if not currently certified).
- Physical Ability: Ability to assist with loading/unloading and securing car seats or mobility devices.
- Screening: Must pass a comprehensive background check and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review.
- Testing: Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and participate in our ongoing random testing safety policy.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
