Driver- Patient Transport

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated patient transporter/ driver to join our team. This vital role involves safely and efficiently moving patients within facilities to ensure timely care and comfort. The ideal candidate will have a compassionate approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast- paced medical environment. Prior experience in hospital, nursing home, or non-emergent care transportation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients to and from various departments within hospitals, including emergency rooms, diagnostic imaging, and patient rooms.
• Assist patients with mobility needs, proper transfer techniques, ensuring safety and comfort at all times
• Maintain clear communication with medical staff to coordinate patient movement and relay pertinent information
• Follow infection control protocols and safety procedures at all times during patient handling.
• Document transportation activities accurately in accordance with hospital policies.
• Provide compassionate care and support to patients during transit, addressing their needs as appropriate.

Skills

• Prior experience in home & community care or hospital settings is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of patient care principles, including proper handling and mobility assistance.
• Experience with transport is a plus , demonstrating ability to manage patient needs
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
• Familiarity with paratransit services, limousine operations, or school bus driving is a plus
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt quickly to changing situations in a clinical environment.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
