Job Summary:

The Driver, Transportation Specialist ensure the safe and timely transfer of materials between SEH facilities, delivering, picking up equipment, supplies, and cash deposit bags to departments utilizing SEH trucks and assisting in the day-to-day responsibilities of Supply Chain Operations.

Job Description:

  • Maintain daily delivery schedule for the transport of materials throughout the System.
  • Load/unload truck in a timely and organized manner.
  • Practice safe driving/loading techniques to insure safe delivery of the load.
  • Responsible for truck upkeep and maintenance to minimize downtown.
  • When assigned, assist in Supply Chain Operations with in-house delivery and receiving.
  • Safe and timely delivery of equipment throughout the system.
  • Obtains customers signatures on all equipment deliveries utilizing the Stock Transfer Sheet.
  • Communicates professionally and effectively with customers, co-workers, and Managers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

DRIVERS must meet requirements below:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Must pass MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check.
  • Must maintain required eligibility for current auto insurance policy at or above state minimum requirements.

NOTE: The following occurrences would result in exclusion from driving Healthcare System vehicles: one or more of any major violations in the preceding 36 months, including but not limited to any type of DUI, refusing substance test, reckless driving, manslaughter, hit and run, eluding a police officer, any felony, drag racing, license suspension, and driving with a suspended license.

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Customer service skills
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to check truck for maintenance needed and report deficiencies promptly

Kind and Length of Experience:

  • 2 years over the road experience, including driving a 26’ truck
  • Physical ability to operate any motor vehicle equipment in Supply Chain Operations and to transport material under temperature extremes and for extended hours of time.
