Driver/Dog Handler

Patriot Goose Control is hiring! Work outdoors with trained dogs! Fully Remote!

Since 2014, Patriot Goose Control has provided humane Canada goose control for commercial, public and private properties using specially trained border collies. We visit each property daily and use the dogs to harass the geese and keep them off of the client's property. We service golf courses, college and school campuses, public parks and office parks just to name a few!

Currently seeking a driver/dog handler to join our team! You would be responsible for servicing between 10-20 sites per day with a company dog and vehicle, making sure the clients' properties are free of geese. This is primarily a DRIVING job. A typical day involves 100-200 miles or driving. This is a FULLY REMOTE position. You MUST have the ability to keep the company dog and company vehicle at your home.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be at least 18 years old

High School diploma or equivalent.

Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record, with the ability to furnish driving record upon request.

This is a FULL TIME, FULLY REMOTE position. You MUST have the ability to keep the company dog and company vehicle at your home.

Must be self motivated and independent. You will not be reporting to an office. You will be responsible for being on time for your shift and managing your own time throughout the day. GPS trackers are used in all company vehicles.

Must be an excellent communicator. We get LOTS of questions when we are out working. You must be able to clearly and patiently explain to bystanders and onlookers what we are doing. You must also be comfortable communicating with clients occasionally.

Must be comfortable working outside in ALL weather conditions and walking at each site on sometimes slippery/muddy terrain. This means you'll walking/working the dog in the cold, rain, heat and snow. Uniforms will be provided.

Must have a smart phone and the ability to use Google Sheets to keep daily activity logs and to call/text with supervisor.

TRAINING:

You will receive 1 on 1 paid training over a 2-3 week period. During this time you will learn how to handle the border collie and how to safely and effectively clear the geese off of our clients' properties.

Preferred Candidates:

Have experience with working dogs or other animals

Have experience driving a company vehicle along a designated route

Have good communication skills and a professional demeanor
