Job Description
Receives supplies delivered to warehouse/hospital. Maintains the physical condition of storage and holding areas. Performs a variety of clerical tasks.
Job Responsibility

* Receives, signs for, unloads, unpacks and verifies deliveries of supplies.

Verifies accuracy of material received by comparing vendor's documents to purchase orders.

Retrieves and fills out receiving forms indicating quantity received, data received, and other data, as required.

Notes on the receiving form to notify Supervisor of any discrepancy such as damage, spoilage, torn wrappings, scratches, breakage, expired merchandise, over shipments, under shipments or mis-shipments.

Forwards Receiving Report/Packaging Slip to Supervisor.

Updates tracking system to complete record-keeping duties, as needed.

* Stores and issues material upon request, taking notes and informing Supervisor of low stock levels, inactive merchandise, damages or expired merchandise.

Determines, with Supervisor, whether to place material in a storage area or to deliver directly to another location or holding area, as necessary.

Picks, packs, and issues material from stock in conformance with approved requisition sheets, indicating on the sheet the actual material issued.

Packs, labels, and addresses material being returned or shipped from the warehouse or hospital receiving and storage areas for repair, replacement, credit, donation or storage.

Prepares necessary paperwork.

* Maintains archive files for hospital(s), and delivers or duplicates these materials upon request from appropriate department heads or administrators.

Places material for a specific unit or department on a transport vehicle, conveys the materials to the designated location.

Drives truck or van to and from warehouse to deliver supplies to the hospital(s).

Operates motorized and manual material handling equipment.

Performs related duties as required.

Job Qualification

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Valid New York State Drivers License, required.
