Drum Instructor – Bring the Beat to Strait School of Music

At Strait School of Music, we help students of all ages and experience levels grow into confident, lifelong musicians - and our program is expanding fast. If you’re a passionate, energetic drum instructor who loves inspiring others, we want you on our team.

The Gig

We’re looking for an experienced drum teacher who can connect with students, build confidence, and keep lessons fun and motivating. You’ll primarily teach drum set (beginner to advanced), but knowledge of rudimental snare, percussion fundamentals, or additional instruments is a big plus. Rock, jazz, funk, Latin, pop, metal - if you’re versatile behind the kit, even better.

Gigging or studio experience? Fantastic. We’re building a team of teachers who understand both musicianship and mentorship.

You’re a Great Fit If You:

• Have a degree in Music Performance, Music Education, or strong professional experience.
• Have 4+ years of teaching experience (private lessons or classroom).
• Are fluent in rhythmic reading, stick control, technique, and foundational music theory.
• Are comfortable teaching kids, teens, and adults.
• Can pass a background check.
• Have solid live-performance or studio experience (bonus!).
• Play multiple instruments (extra bonus!).
• Have early-childhood teaching experience (super bonus!).

Pay: $36.00 - $40.00 per hour
