Position Description:
CGI is looking for an experienced Drupal Developer – Lead to lead the development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise-scale Drupal applications. The role requires deep expertise in Drupal, PHP, Symfony, and front-end technologies, along with leadership capabilities to guide teams in Agile delivery environments. The successful candidate will support legacy and modern Drupal platforms, drive cloud adoption, and ensure high performance, accessibility, and SEO compliance across digital platforms.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for Drupal 7 (AWS) and Drupal 10/11 (Azure) platforms.
- Lead the Drupal 10 to Drupal 11 uplift, including module and theme compatibility.
- Oversee end-to-end front-end and back-end development, ensuring coding standards and best practices.
- Ensure continuity of eCommerce functionality including product catalog, cart, checkout, payments, and integrations.
- Drive Agile delivery, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and cross-team collaboration.
- Implement and monitor Core Web Vitals, SEO optimization, and accessibility compliance.
- Govern CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps practices using Terraform and Docker.
- Define and enforce testing strategies including unit, integration, and automation testing.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for stakeholders, managing risks and dependencies.
- Mentor and upskill development teams across Drupal, PHP, front-end, and cloud technologies.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Extensive Drupal development experience (7, 10, 11).
- Strong PHP and Symfony development background.
- Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and web standards.
- Experience working in Agile enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of enterprise testing practices.
- Experience working in fast-paced domains such as Retail or eCommerce
Good-to-Have Skills:
- JavaScript and TypeScript development experience.
- Accessibility standards (WCAG) exposure.
- Experience with MySQL or other SQL databases.
- Hands-on eCommerce domain experience.
- Integration with Analytics and Optimization tools (Google Analytics).
- Experience with Core Web Vitals and SEO optimization.
- Cloud and DevOps experience using AWS, Terraform, Docker.
