We are hiring a Registered Nurse 4 (RN4) to join our leadership team at Olympic Heritage Behavioral Health (OHBH) in Tukwila, WA. This vital role supports the Chief Nursing Officer in overseeing psychiatric inpatient nursing services, staff training and development, and infection control. The RN4 helps ensure the consistent delivery of safe, high-quality care while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, including CMS standards. About OHBH

Olympic Heritage Behavioral Health in Tukwila, Washington, is a 74-bed state-operated 24/7 facility acquired by DSHS in 2023 to expand access to psychiatric care. Serving civilly committed patients, OHBH provides evidence-based treatment through a multidisciplinary team of psychiatric, nursing, rehabilitation, and social work professionals. With a focus on stabilization and recovery, OHBH helps patients manage mental health symptoms and prepare for a successful transition back into the community.

Some of what you'll do:

  • Assist the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in managing all aspects of nursing practice and serve as acting CNO when needed

  • Plan, direct, and evaluate nursing care delivery in alignment with hospital, nursing, and security standards — ensuring consistent, high-quality care in a secure psychiatric setting
  • Oversee nursing documentation, treatment planning, and outcome assessments to support evidence-based, patient-centered care

  • Lead staffing operations, including deployment, supervision, performance management, hiring recommendations, and disciplinary actions

  • Collaborate with Center Directors, discipline leaders, and other departments to coordinate integrated patient care

  • Educate nursing staff on clinical decision-making, regulatory standards, and publicly funded healthcare systems such as Medicare and Medicaid

  • Conduct staff meetings, investigate complaints, and promote the hospital's mission, vision, and standards across all nursing shifts

What we're looking for:

  • Knowledge of professional nursing practices, including psychiatric nursing, infection control, and emergency response

  • Understanding of supervisory principles and the ability to lead, mentor, and support nursing staff

  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills grounded in evidence-based practice

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a secure, high-acuity environment

  • Commitment to professional development and awareness of community resources that support patient care

Who should apply?

  • Professionals who have graduated from an accredited school of nursing
    AND

  • Have at least four years of professional nursing experience, including at least two years in a leadership role overseeing nursing personnel.
Note:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing may substitute for two years of nonsupervisory experience.

  • One year of full-time nursing teaching experience may substitute for one year of supervisory experience.

Additional information:

  • Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
