DSM Water Engineer

Role Objective

Responsible for assisting with the implementation of water conservation programs across all TAQA Distribution customer sectors. The position will provide technical support during the development of DSM initiatives, as well as support for these initiatives as they are implemented. As such, the position will work closely with other DSM staff members and external contractors throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Growth & Sustainability related :

• Execute all assigned tasks and to ensure that these are executed efficiently, accurately and in a timely manner
• Report on the overall performance and work progress of tasks assigned

Customer related:

• Execute all customer facing transactions in line with TAQA Distribution customer strategy resulting in higher satisfaction and timely delivery of services
• Address customer needs, problems and requests in a timely manner
• Ensure the delivery of a world-class customer experience
• Support the customer focused culture minimizing disruption to impacted customers ensuring customers are kept informed

Operational Excellence related:

• Provide technical support to develop DSM Initiatives to reduce water consumption across a particular customer sector (e.g., Water network upgrading and automation, low-flow water fixtures, etc.).
• Once approved, support the implementation of DSM initiatives through field coordination, task scheduling, contractor and vendor oversight and quality control.
• Technical review of designs of water conservation measures and participate in value engineering of it for cost optimization.
• Review the scope of work for tendering process.
• Conduct necessary engineering exercise towards the baseline consumption profile preparation and other required site work (e.g., evaluate and confirm site audit and survey reports of consultant/contractor) and endorse asset identification and verification and other necessary information.
• Perform on-site audits of customer premises to identify additional potential savings in energy/water consumption (e.g., controls and other relevant technology).
• Track work assignments to project plans to ensure that tasks are completed by assigned deadlines.
• Represent TAQA Distribution in a professional manner to all customers to ensure deep and trusting client relationships.
• Participate to ensure accurate testing and commissioning of water conservation measures in customer premises.
• Comply with reasonable OSH instructions and safe working procedures.
• Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems
• Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
• Not willfully or recklessly endanger anyone’s health and safety.
• Assist with preparation of risk assessments; and
• Report OSH hazards, incidents, and issues.

Qualifications & Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil/Mechanical) or equivalent,
• Certification such as Certified Water Efficiency Professional, Certified Energy Manager, Certified Measurement and Verification Professional, Certified Energy Auditor, LEED Accredited Professional, and/or Qualified Pearl Professional desirable, but not required.

Preferred Experience:

• Minimum 3 of years relevant experience
