DSP (Direct Support Professional)

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, including those with autism, in a group home setting. Your primary focus will be to assist clients in their daily activities, promote independence, and enhance their quality of life while ensuring their safety and well-being.

Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs and preferences.
• Provide patient observation to monitor clients' physical and emotional well-being.
• Support clients in social interactions and community engagement activities.
• Facilitate skill development through structured activities and programs.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment within the group home.
• Perform heavy lifting as needed to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality and privacy.

Skills

• Experience working with individuals with autism or similar developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of direct support practices and principles in a group home setting.
• Ability to lift and assist clients safely, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
• Strong observational skills for monitoring client behavior and health status.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
• Familiarity with care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
• A background in nursing or healthcare is beneficial but not required.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
