Purpose of the role

The Digital and Technology team of General Mills India Centre is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to contribute to the Global Digital Transformation initiative at General Mills in capacity of a D&T Analyst II – Data Quality Tool Engineer. This role will report into Assistant D&T Manager – Data Quality in Global Data Governance Services in India and functionally collaborate with stakeholders across the Enterprise teams. It is an Individual contributor role. A Data Quality (Governance) Tool Engineer will join the team to support and stand-up future capabilities of various tools relating to data cataloguing & governance, analytics, and semantic layer modelling. This role will be a connection point across multiple technology teams to ensure ongoing health of following tools/platforms - Alation. The Tool Engineer would also participate in future integration with platforms like SAP, GCP, etc. Ideal candidate would be someone who has worked in application support before and has knack of solving problems with automation scripts preferably using Python. Willing to collaborate with stakeholders, tool users and infrastructure teams to smoothly traverse any work needs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• 
  Understands the analysis of business governance needs and supports the tooling platforms through interactions with the community.

• Collaborates in cross-team conversations to ensure seamless and sustainable upgrades, enhancements, and bug fixes of tooling.

• Understands and influences data governance technology capabilities roadmap.

• Executes communicating impacts, dependencies, risks, etc. between product teams and technology teams as it relates to the specific data governance technology capabilities.

• Develops technical integrations between analytic and technical capabilities.

• Works closely with Data Governance/Analytic architect, Data Stewards, product manager and technical support teams.

• 
  8+ years demonstrating a high degree of proficiency in designing, supporting and automating complex, high quality analytic solutions.

• 2 years working with Cloud services, preferably GCP (Google Cloud Platform)

• Experience in technical requirements analysis and mapping it to the analytic technology solutions.

• Experience in implanting & supporting Analytic technologies, including solutions leveraging Artificial Intelligence, Cloud and Business intelligence capabilities.

• Ability to adapt and prioritize the delivery of analytic solutions such that it can meet immediate needs, while building towards the long-term sustainable solution

• Understands and adheres to data and analytic governance principles.

• Strong communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with both business and tech teams.

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Collaborative, with the ability to coordinate with multiple teams at the same time, understand their requirements and be able to logically break scope of work into phases and roadmap it out.

• Being able to balance direction and technical feasibility.

• Support

o Manages the stability of the application and platform with EApps

o Level 2/3 support for end-users (troubleshoot, diagnose, resolve, and communicate)

o Manage all support tickets with vendor.

o Upgrades and New Features

o Assist with upgrades.

o Responsible for upgrade testing

o Responsible for feature testing

o Responsible for report testing

• 
  Coding:

o Write and manage custom scripts (Python)

o Write and manage SQL scripts for reporting.

o Responsible for ETL jobs for Alation data going to Big Query

• 
  Integrations:

o Manage existing integrations.

o Lead any new integrations.

• Good to have Skills:

o Knowledge of Data Governance Strategies and Processes

o Experience in DevOps, with Infrastructure or development focus.

o Shell Script

o Network Commands and understanding of TCP/Firewalls

o Alation or any Data Catalog tool worked with before.
