Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating dump trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles to transport materials such as gravel, dirt, debris, or other freight to various job sites. Your expertise in truck driving, route management, and vehicle operation will ensure efficient deliveries and pickups while maintaining the highest safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction, demolition, or waste management projects with a focus on precision and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks and related equipment such as roll-off trucks or flatbed trailers with skill and safety awareness.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate tools like forklifts when necessary.
- Drive route-specific trucks, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, or tanker trucks, adhering strictly to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Transport materials across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups while maintaining accurate logs of all trips.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns before each shift.
- Follow all safety protocols during loading, unloading, and driving operations to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site personnel to coordinate routes and delivery schedules.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial truck driver, specifically operating dump trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
- Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and the operation of refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or freight haulers is highly desirable.
- Prior delivery driver experience involving load & unload procedures and route driving is preferred.
- Ability to handle various freight types including construction materials or waste loads efficiently and safely.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type (e.g., dump truck, tanker).
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to truck driving and vehicle maintenance practices.
