Duties

• Safely operate dump trucks, including manual transmission models, to transport materials such as gravel, dirt, debris, or other bulk loads to designated locations.
• Load and unload materials accurately using appropriate equipment like forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring proper handling of freight.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking brakes, tires, lights, and fluid levels to guarantee optimal performance.
• Follow established routes for delivery and collection, adhering to schedules and traffic regulations to ensure punctuality.
• Maintain detailed logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance needs for record-keeping and compliance purposes.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site personnel regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during operation.
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed diligently to prevent accidents or damage during loading, transit, or unloading processes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating dump trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles in a commercial driving environment.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for dump trucks; manual transmission experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with various truck types including flatbed, tanker, refrigerated trailer, tractor-trailer, and roll-off trucks.
• Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when necessary.
• Strong knowledge of route driving practices and safety regulations governing commercial trucking operations.
• Experience with freight handling and transporting bulk materials over long or short distances.
• Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with transportation laws.
