Duties
- Safely operate dump trucks with manual transmission across diverse terrains and job sites
- Load and unload materials such as gravel, sand, debris, or waste using appropriate equipment like forklifts or roll-off trucks
- Drive route-specific trucks including flatbed, tanker, refrigerated trailer, or specialized dump trucks to deliver materials efficiently
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, loads, mileage, and fuel usage for reporting purposes
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate deliveries and address any issues promptly
Experience
- Proven experience operating dump trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles in a commercial setting
- Familiarity with manual transmission truck operation and various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers or flatbeds
- Prior experience driving tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, or freight delivery vehicles preferred
- Knowledge of load securing techniques and safety procedures for transporting freight or construction materials
- Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when necessary
- Strong understanding of route driving, traffic regulations, and safety standards for commercial driving
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with relevant endorsements; experience with tanker or specialized trailers is a plus
