Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations in our fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service management and will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient food preparation, and effective team management. This role requires a hands-on approach to leadership, with a focus on maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the restaurant staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Manage cash handling procedures and maintain accurate financial records.
- Train, develop, and mentor team members in various aspects of restaurant operations, including customer service and food handling.
- Conduct inventory control to manage stock levels effectively and minimize waste.
- Utilize POS systems (Aloha POS, Micros POS) for order processing and sales tracking.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Assist in budgeting processes and contribute to financial planning for the restaurant.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Support management in hiring processes through interviewing potential candidates.
Skills
- Proven experience in quick service or fast food restaurants; fine dining experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Proficient in cash handling procedures and financial management within a restaurant setting.
- Experience with inventory control and kitchen management practices.
- Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills.
- Background in culinary arts or related fields is preferred; barista or coffee experience is an advantage.
- Familiarity with training & development techniques for staff enhancement.
