Shift: Rotational (Morning, Evening & Night Shifts)Job Purpose:

To provide continuous medical care, emergency management, and clinical support to in-patients and out-patients in a psychiatric hospital, ensuring patient safety, quality care, and coordination with the consultant psychiatrist and other healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care & Monitoring
• Provide round-the-clock medical coverage and attend to all in-patient and emergency cases.
• Monitor patients’ physical and mental health status, record clinical notes, and escalate to consultants when required.
• Handle psychiatric emergencies (violent behavior, suicidal attempts, acute psychosis, withdrawal symptoms, etc.) promptly.
• Administer prescribed medications, injections, and IV fluids, and monitor side effects.
• Emergency & Crisis Management
• Attend to medical and psychiatric emergencies during duty hours.
• Initiate first-line management and stabilize the patient before consultant intervention.
• Provide CPR and life-saving interventions in case of medical emergencies.
• Coordination & Communication
• Report patient conditions, daily progress, and any critical incidents to the consultant psychiatrist.
• Coordinate with nursing staff, counselors, and support staff for smooth patient management.
• Communicate with patient relatives regarding updates under the guidance of the consultant.
• Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain accurate patient records, treatment charts, and case files.
• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, medico-legal guidelines, and confidentiality policies.
• Assist in admission, discharge, and referral processes.
• Rotational & Night Shifts
• Work in rotational shifts (Morning, Evening, and Night) as per hospital duty roster.
• Ensure continuity of care during shift handovers.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Any doctor degree with valid medical registration (mandatory).
• Experience or interest in Psychiatry preferred.
• Ability to handle psychiatric and medical emergencies.
• Strong communication, decision-making, and crisis management skills.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts including nights.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
