Job Qualifications
- Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree is typically required*
- A valid and unrestricted medical license to practice as a doctor in the relevant country or region.
Experience
- 1-5 years of post-internship experience in clinical practice, with a focus on internal medicine, geriatrics, or emergency medicine preferred.
Job Description
Resident Care:
- Provide daily medical care to residents, managing both chronic and acute conditions.
- Conduct regular health assessments and monitor vital signs of residents to track their health status.
- Administer medications as prescribed by the consulting physician or Chief Medical Officer.
Emergency Response:
- Act as the first responder to medical emergencies within the facility (e.g., falls, cardiac issues, respiratory distress).
- Provide immediate stabilization and emergency care until further treatment or specialist attention is available.
- Coordinate with external healthcare services (e.g., ambulance, hospital) when residents require off-site medical attention
Medical Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of residents, including treatment plans, progress notes, and medication charts.
- Ensure proper documentation of all incidents, medical interventions, and resident health status for compliance with healthcare regulations.
Collaboration with Healthcare Teams:
- Work closely with nurses, therapists, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care for residents.
- Communicate regularly with the Chief Medical Officer and consulting physicians regarding residents' health and treatment plans.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to review and update resident care plans
Routine Medical Procedures:
- Perform routine procedures such as wound care, IV insertions, catheterization, and blood sampling as required.
- Ensure regular monitoring of residents with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension, and respiratory disorders.
- Oversee the administration of treatments like oxygen therapy, nebulization, or intravenous medications
Liaison with Families:
- Communicate with residents' families regarding their loved ones' health, treatment, and any significant changes in their medical status.
- Address concerns and provide clarity on medical issues, ensuring families are informed and involved in the care process.
Support in Palliative and End-of-Life Care:
- Assist in providing palliative care and support for residents nearing the end of life.
- Ensure comfort measures are in place, and work with families on end-of-life decisions, respecting the dignity and wishes of the resident.
