Job Summary:

The E-commerce Accounting Executive will be responsible for managing marketplace financial operations, including payment reconciliation, invoice verification, GST compliance, returns/claims management, and coordination with finance and e-commerce teams. The role ensures accuracy in all financial transactions across platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, Shopify, and others.

Key Responsibilities

1. Marketplace Accounting & Reconciliation

  • Reconcile payments received from marketplaces with internal order records.
  • Verify marketplace charges such as commissions, shipping fees, advertising fees, and penalties.
  • Identify discrepancies and raise claims for overcharges, short payments, or incorrect fees.
  • Maintain daily/weekly reconciliation reports.

2. Invoice & Documentation Management

  • Generate and verify invoices for online sales as per GST guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales invoices, credit notes, debit notes, and marketplace statements.
  • Ensure proper documentation for returns (RTO/returns accepted), cancellations, and replacements.

3. Returns, Refunds & Claims Handling

  • Track and reconcile returns, RTO orders, and damaged/lost shipment reports.
  • Process refund entries and ensure accurate accounting treatment.
  • File claims with marketplaces for damaged, lost, or incorrect deductions.

4. GST & Compliance

  • Assist in GST input/output reconciliation related to e-commerce sales.
  • Ensure marketplace reports match with internal GST filings.
  • Support CA or finance team in monthly GST audit preparation.

5. Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly accounting and sales reconciliation reports.
  • Analyze trends in marketplace charges, returns, and profitability.
  • Provide insights to operations and management to reduce losses and improve financial accuracy.

6. Coordination & Communication

  • Work closely with the e-commerce operations team and warehouse for order/return verification.
  • Coordinate with marketplace support teams to resolve financial discrepancies.
  • Liaise with finance, accounts, and CA teams for audits and reporting.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–8 years of experience in e-commerce accounting or marketplace reconciliation.
  • Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, invoicing, and basic accounting principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon/Flipkart Seller Panels, payment reports, and settlements.
  • Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table, Reconciliation tools).
  • Strong analytical ability with high attention to detail.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
