E-commerce Manager

We are a startup with a clear vision and capital, but no existing product list. Our model is simple but powerful: identify high-opportunity niches, source products at low cost from Pakistan, China, and other markets, and sell them profitably online. You will be the architect of this model.

About the Role:
This is the first and most critical hire. We need a hands-on, data-driven, and entrepreneurial E-commerce Manager who will build our entire business from zero. You won't be managing an existing catalog—you'll be creating it. You will define what we sell, where we source it, and how we market it. This is a role for a builder, not just a manager.

Key Responsibilities:
Phase 1: Discovery & Strategy (Weeks 1-4)

  • Conduct deep market research to identify 3-5 promising product verticals suitable for both Pakistan and Gulf markets (e.g., home textiles, kitchenware, garden products, prayer mats, fashion accessories).
  • Analyze competitors, pricing, and demand trends using tools like Jungle Scout, Google Trends, and social media.
  • Present a clear, data-backed go-to-market plan with a proposed first product lineup.

Phase 2: Sourcing & Launch (Months 1-3)

  • Find and vet suppliers for the chosen verticals from Pakistan (local manufacturers), China (Alibaba/1688), and potentially other low-cost countries.
  • Manage the entire sourcing pipeline: initial contact, sample requests, quality checks, negotiation (price, MOQ, payment terms), and arrange shipping.
  • Set up our e-commerce store (Shopify), integrate payments (for PK & Gulf), and establish basic logistics/fulfillment processes.
  • Create product listings, basic brand assets, and launch our first digital marketing campaigns.

Phase 3: Scale & Optimize (Ongoing)

  • Analyze sales data to double down on winning products and cut losers.
  • Optimize marketing spend across Meta, TikTok, and Google Ads.
  • Establish systems for customer service, inventory management, and financial tracking.
  • Explore scaling on marketplaces (Daraz, Amazon.ae, Noon).

Who You Are (The Ideal Candidate):

  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: You think like an owner. You're proactive, resourceful, and comfortable with ambiguity. You want to build something, not just maintain it.
  • Product & Market Researcher: You know how to find winning products. You can analyze "what's selling" and identify a profitable niche we can enter. (Experience with product research tools is a huge plus).
  • Hands-On Sourcer: You have direct experience sourcing from China (Alibaba, communication with factories, quality control basics) and knowledge of Pakistani manufacturing hubs (like Lahore, Sialkot, Faisalabad). You're not afraid to get on calls with suppliers.
  • E-commerce Executor: You have set up or managed at least one e-commerce store. You understand platforms (Shopify), basic digital marketing, and operations.
  • Analytical & Hustler: You make decisions based on data, but you also have the hustle to get things done with limited resources. You're ready for a startup grind.
  • Market Aware: You intuitively understand the difference between selling to a customer in Multan/Karachi vs. Dubai/Riyadh (culture, pricing, marketing).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs40,000.00 - Rs80,000.00 per month
