E-Commerce Product & QA Specialist (Technical Role)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and technically strong E-Commerce Product & QA Specialist to manage advanced product catalog operations, ensure data integrity, and conduct systematic QA testing for our website and mobile applications. This role requires strong technical skills, analytical thinking, and hands-on experience with eCommerce systems and testing tools to ensure a seamless, high-performance shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
Website Merchandising & Optimization
Configure and optimize product merchandising logic across categories, collections, landing pages, and campaign modules.
Manage dynamic content blocks, automated collections, filters, tags, and rule-based product placements.
Upload, QA, and optimize banners, promotional modules, hero sections, pop-ups, and featured product grids.
Execute A/B testing for banners, CTAs, layouts, and campaign placements to improve conversions.
Implement advanced cross-selling & upselling logic, product recommendation widgets, and bundling automation.
Work closely with UI/UX, design, and marketing teams to align creative assets with campaign goals.
Analyze heatmaps, user flows, and behavior data using Google Analytics, Hotjar, or similar tools to improve engagement and site navigation.
Product Data Accuracy & Catalog Management
Manage large-scale product catalog operations using CSV/Google Sheets bulk uploads, data validation methods, and automated workflows.
Ensure 100% accuracy in product metadata including attributes, variations, pricing logic, stock rules, and tax configurations.
Perform routine catalog audits to identify missing attributes, incorrect mappings, or SEO gaps.
Manage SEO optimization for product titles, metadata, URLs, schema tags, alt tags, and rich snippets.
Validate technical specifications with suppliers and internal teams; maintain SKU relationships and variant mapping.
Integrate and maintain product feeds for marketplace channels (Amazon, Noon, Carrefour, etc.) using APIs or connectors.
Work with development teams to improve PIM (Product Information Management) workflows.
Technical Website & App QA Testing
Perform end-to-end functional testing across search, filters, PDP, cart, checkout, payment gateways, and customer flows.
Execute structured test cycles:
Smoke testing
Sanity testing
Regression testing
Cross-browser and cross-device testing
Use or support automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or custom scripts.
Validate performance KPIs: page load speed, Core Web Vitals, caching, and responsiveness.
Verify all new product uploads, banners, promotional rules, discount logic, and content updates before deployment.
Identify UI/UX issues, broken links, incorrect routing, or performance bottlenecks.
Log bugs, track resolutions, and manage sprints using Jira / Trello / GitLab / ClickUp or similar tools.
Document test plans, test cases, test results, and recommendations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in eCommerce, Computer Science, IT, Business, or related field.
2–4 years of experience in:
eCommerce merchandising
Product catalog management
QA testing (manual & basic automation)
Strong technical knowledge of platforms: Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, Odoo, or custom-built systems.
Practical knowledge of:
Playwright, Selenium, Postman (API testing), Charles Proxy
Google Sheets/Excel advanced functions (VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Data Validation, Pivot Tables)
Web testing & debugging tools (Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse)
Ability to manage high-volume product uploads and data corrections with precision.
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple releases/campaigns.
Nice to Have (Preferred Technical Skills)
Hands-on experience with:
Shopify liquid customization, theme config, metafields
Odoo or Magento backend
API-based product feed management
Understanding of Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and eCommerce tracking.
Knowledge of SQL, basic scripting (Python/JS), or automation knowledge is a plus.
Familiarity with Algolia search, Elasticsearch, or similar search engines.
Experience with performance tools like GTmetrix, PageSpeed Insights.
Understanding of schemas, microdata, and technical SEO.
