    Be a part of the Orono Early Learning team working to build a solid foundation for children's future school and life success! This is a part time, school year position. The ECFE Parent Educator works under the direction of the Early Learning Coordinator and works closely with the ECFE Early Childhood Teacher to plan and implement developmentally appropriate adult learning activities that support the needs and interests of the families. The ideal candidate would also serve as a role model and resource for parents in adult/child interactions.

    Job Summary:

    • Maintain a clean and orderly physical environment conducive to optimizing adult learning styles.
    • Follow the direction of families' needs and interests when planning discussion activities.
    • Attend and actively contribute to staff and family meetings.
    • Take initiative and have a willingness to grow in your field.

    Qualifications:
    • A Parent and Family Education teaching license, issued through Minnesota PELSB is required.
    • Working knowledge of the Parent Education Core Curriculum Framework, best practices and strategies, and individual adult learning styles.
    • Ability to work effectively with children and caregivers.
    • Demonstration of a warm and welcoming rapport with all children and caregivers.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Evidence of self-motivation, enthusiasm, patience, timeliness, problem solving and flexibility.
    • Experience and excellent references for helping to create an early childhood classroom that fosters social emotional and academic growth.
    • Organized, flexible and able to handle multiple priorities typical in a public school district Early Childhood Family Education program.

    Compensation
    : $27.32+ per hour. Hours to be determined based on student enrollment, one month prior to start date. Benefit eligibility during Long-Term Sub assignment dependent on hours determined by Orono Public Schools.

    INSURANCE
    .75 - 1.0 FTE
    Single Health: 100% Covered by District
    Employee + 1 Health: 75% Covered by District
    Family Health: 65% Covered by District

    .5 - .75 FTE = 50% of the Benefits listed above
