Duties
- Assist in implementing curriculum development plans tailored to various age groups, including toddlers and preschoolers, fostering early literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional growth
- Support classroom teachers by managing daily activities, including lesson planning, classroom management, behavior management, and child welfare practices
- Provide hands-on care for children, ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement during activities such as playtime, meal times, and rest periods
- Work with children with special education needs or those requiring early intervention strategies to promote inclusive learning experiences
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and supports developmental milestones
- Collaborate with staff on standardized testing preparations and tutoring sessions to track progress and tailor instruction accordingly
- Assist with toddler care routines, including diapering, feeding, and comforting children as needed
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in early childhood education settings such as daycare or preschool environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and practices including Montessori or other educational philosophies
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing classroom needs and support multiple classrooms as a floater or breaker
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Experience with lesson planning for early learners across subjects like literacy education, math, physical education, and social skills
- Certification in early childhood education or related fields is a plus but not mandatory; ongoing professional development encouraged
- Passion for working with young children and commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing learning environment
