Job description

Opportunity School is looking for professional, high-quality substitute teachers to join our team and growing program! The Substitute Teacher plays a vital role in maintaining the continuity of education in the classroom when the regular teacher is unavailable. This position requires a dynamic individual who can adapt to various teaching environments and effectively engage students across different age groups and learning abilities. The Substitute Teacher will implement lesson plans, manage classroom behavior, and foster a positive learning atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a calming and caring environment for infant/toddler children
• Use a developmentally appropriate curriculum to teach children
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem, language, motor, and cognitive skills
• Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
• Supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
• Collaborate with other teachers and work together as a team
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
