Job Summary

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that align with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
  • Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and positive behavior management.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of children's developmental progress using standardized testing methods and observational techniques to tailor instruction effectively.
  • Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, motor, language, and social skills through lesson planning and hands-on experiences.
  • Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children's progress, address individual needs such as special education or early intervention services, and support child welfare initiatives.
  • Manage classroom routines efficiently while maintaining discipline through positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Incorporate Montessori principles or other educational philosophies to enhance learning experiences when applicable.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, including classroom experience with toddlers and early learners.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, behavior management techniques, and early intervention strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop engaging curricula that incorporate literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional learning.
  • Familiarity with classroom management tools and techniques to create an organized learning environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Certification in early childhood education or related fields; additional training in special education or Montessori methods is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.50 per hour
