John Tillman Company, a division of Bunzl, is seeking an Eastern Regional Sales Manager. The Eastern Regional Sales Manager is responsible for creating, developing, and driving sales in the East Coast. The successful candidate will direct and coordinate sales activities with independent sales representatives, including development of sales strategies and communication. The John Tillman Company was founded in 1928 and is the leading manufacturer and supplier of welding protective products in the United States.

This position’s sales territory will be the entire East Coast.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain leadership, training, and development of Tillman sales effort, including management of independent sales representatives and direct representatives.
  • Continue development of key customers and target accounts with ongoing growth to ensure meeting or exceeding established expectations.
  • Develop programs that further facilitate product growth within the customer base.
  • Assist the Sales Director with developing the sales budget as required.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal staff (Purchasing, Customer Service, Warehousing, Accounting, and Sales staff) to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Drive a strong customer service mentality and continue building current customer relationships.
  • Develop and deploy sales and customer-specific sales strategies.
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding sales and margin goals.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience with a proven track record selling in competitive markets.
  • Previous experience in sales within the Welding, Industrial, and/or Safety industries is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the market in which you are selling and the deployment of resources that ensure maximum coverage and product exposure.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Must possess executive-level communication skills; including the ability to sell the concept of improving operating efficiencies while demonstrating value added benefits to executive management.
  • Must possess strong planning, organizational, time management, and strong analytical problem solving skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with strong leadership skills and a creative initiator with the ability to motivate.
  • Must be team orientated with excellent customer service and selling skills.
  • Must be able to travel, with overnight stays a minimum of 2-3 nights per week.
  • Position needs to reside in Eastern part of USA, preferably live close to a major airport.
