Job Summary

This position will provide instructional design support for eCampus, one of the University System of Georgia's Collaborative Programs, and minor support for other collaborative programs on the GoVIEW Learning Management System (LMS).
Primary duties and responsibilities are:
Providing course revision and development support for faculty, overseeing the course quality in university system-wide collaborative online programs, including making regular course updates, checking and maintaining links, developing new materials; and serving as an eCampus GoVIEW administrator for all USG collaborative programs.
Identifies instructional design needs, and helps to ensure institutional effectiveness promoting quality assurance in online courses, SACS and BOR accreditation guidelines, quality pedagogical and instructional methods, copyright, and ADA requirements; serves as an institutional administrator of the online course management system known as GoVIEW.
Will design and implement media enhancement for collaborative courses; trace and report all costs related to the development and revision of courses, reporting those costs to the budget manager; actively research trends in instructional technology and make recommendations for use; other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

1 - 45
Lead course quality review and development teams, ensuring that online courses are reviewed on a regularly scheduled basis as set by the USG and that each complies with accreditation standards and principles of good practice

2 - 20
Responsibility for oversight of course quality in university system-wide collaborative online programs, including making regular course updates, checking and maintaining links, and developing new multimedia-enhanced materials

3 - 15
Serve as Collaborative Programs LMS administrator, including creating new course online sections, granting (and removing as needed) users course access, establishing best practices for course building, and maintaining a secure LMS environment

4 - 10
Track and report all costs related to the development and revision of courses, reporting these to the budget manager. Actively researches trends in instructional technology and makes recommendations for use in all collaborative programs

5 - 10

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree

Other Required Qualifications
Willingness to multi-task and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Required Experience
2 or more years experience in instructional design or support of online students and faculty required. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of both current practices and emerging trends in the field of instructional technology and distance learning. Broad-based knowledge and skill in operating a variety of software applications used in multimedia, courseware development, and distributed learning products.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree & two years' experience working with Course Management Systems and related distance ed technologies preferred.

Proposed Salary

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Must be able to work evenings/weekends as needed and occasional travel.

KNOWLEDGE
Describe any budgetary responsibilities: Track and report all costs related to the development and revision of courses.

SKILLS
Describe the type of decisions this position makes and what are the consequences of error: Drives the development, resources accumulation, timelines, and support for course updates and revisions. Consequences of error will result in course errors and faculty support ' resulting in potential impacts on students' success in collaborative program courses.
