Summary:
Echo Specialist is responsible for performing echocardiographic studies, providing preliminary interpretations, and serving as a technical expert in cardiac ultrasound imaging.
Functional Responsibilities:

Ensures through his/her actions, either directly or indirectly, that a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served at the Care Hospitals and Clinics.

Conduct specialized studies (3D/4D echo, contrast studies, strain imaging).

Performs M-Mode and 2-dimensional echocardiograms in both adults, children and children.

Perform complex transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms.

Perform stress echocardiograms and pharmacological stress tests.
-
Execute ICU bedside echocardiography.
-
Performs an assessment on patients of various conditions and ages, considering the physical and physiological needs of every patient.

Provide preliminary interpretations and measurements

Recognize critical findings requiring immediate physician notification
-
Perform comprehensive hemodynamic assessments.
-
Evaluate complex congenital and acquired heart disease.
-
Obtain high-quality cardiac images and measurements.
-
Follow established scanning protocols and procedures.
-
Explain procedures to patients and obtain consent.
-
Position patients for optimal imaging results.
-
Monitor patient comfort and vital signs during procedures.
-
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
-
Processes and maintains records of all results. Performs minor repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment as needed.

Troubleshoot technical problems and artifacts.
-
Maintains departmental inventory of necessary materials and supplies.
-
Performs all written documentation, as required by departmental standards, in a timely fashion and submits the completed report.

Organize the rota for coverage.

Mentor and train junior technologists and students.
-
Participates in continuing education.
-
Maintain MOH and CBAHI accreditation standards.

Responsible to educate patients /families as per their needs and to implement their whole role regarding patient / family education process as mention in patient & family education policy and procedure including documentation in patient medical record.

Performs additional duties as directed or assigned by Supervisor.
Job Specifications
Minimum Job Qualifications Requirement (Academic, Certifications, languages, etc.)

Bachelor's degree in diagnostic medical sonography or related field.
-
Registration in Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and current valid license as Echo specialist.
-
BLS, ACLS certification required.
Minimum Work Experience:

3-5years specialized echo experience post qualification in a large hospital facility.
