Overview
The Ecommerce Digital Merchandiser plays a key role in shaping and executing Cavender’s online merchandising vision by blending data insight, brand storytelling, and customer experience to drive growth. This role develops, implements, and optimizes online merchandising strategies to improve experience, deepen engagement, and maximize conversion across digital touchpoints. Reporting to the Sr. Digital Merchandising Manager and partnering with Ecommerce, Merchandising, Marketing, and Technology, this role ensures alignment between product presentation, brand narrative, and user experience. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and leverages ecommerce trends and customer behavior to deliver measurable results for the Cavender’s brand.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the “Cavender’s Culture” and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Lead the creation, implementation, and governance of Cavender’s Ecommerce Merchandising standards and best practices in partnership with cross-functional teams in Merchandising, Technology, and Marketing.
- Utilize expertise in site navigation and taxonomy to ensure a seamless, intuitive customer journey. Optimize category hierarchies, product sorting logic, and navigation pathways to maximize product discoverability and conversion.
- Review the site daily to ensure proper product categorization and promotional functionality to maintain accuracy, consistency, and optimal presentation across all digital platforms.
- Partner with Merchandising, Marketing, and Digital teams to develop and execute cohesive landing pages, curated collections, and promotional initiatives that reflect brand strategy and enhance the customer experience.
- Coordinate with Merchandising, Marketing, and Digital teams to create and manage landing pages, collections, and promotional pricing.
- Leverage data and analytics tools to track performance, measure engagement, and identify insights that inform future merchandising decisions and innovation opportunities.
- Continuously identify opportunities to streamline workflows, elevate content accuracy, and enhance operational efficiency across all digital merchandising processes.
- Monitor digital merchandising and ecommerce industry trends, bringing forward recommendations that keep Cavender’s at the forefront of customer experience innovation
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Merchandising, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in Ecommerce, Site Merchandising, Fashion Merchandising or Marketing
- Hands-on experience of an Ecommerce platform (SFCC preferred)
- Understanding of digital merchandising principles, product taxonomy, onsite search optimization, and customer journey mapping
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and aligning stakeholders around shared objectives.
- Highly organized with an ability to prioritize and multi-task with a strong attention to detail and process.
- Superior skills working with software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic web tools.
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of website analytics tools.
- Passion for brand storytelling and delivering inspiring customer experiences that balance commercial goals with brand integrity.
- General understanding of common Ecommerce KPIs, target setting and external benchmarks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Based in Tyler, TX at our home office; East Texas area residence.
- Travel up to 10% as required.
Preferred Skills
- Footwear and apparel experience is a plus.
- Ability to handle confidential materials and matters with discretion.
- Experience in working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Comfortable communicating and presenting at all levels.
