ECOMMERCE MERCHANT
IMPACT ON BUSINESS:
Responsible for proactively identifying category and product opportunities to drive growth in the ecommerce channel. Accountable for managing a compelling and well-balanced drop ship assortment that aligns with financial targets, including sales and gross margin. Oversees the end-to-end process from assortment planning through fulfillment, ensuring a seamless guest experience.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES [Essential Functions]:
Drive financial performance by achieving key KPIs such as sales, gross margin, net profit, conversion rate and average order value for the ecommerce business
Negotiate with vendors on pricing, assortment content, shipping terms and reasonable shipping windows
Partner with vendors to ensure accurate inventory availability, imagery, and product specifications
Attend market to identify, create, and build new vendor partnerships
Develop and optimize a profitable drop ship product assortment aligned with guest demand, market trends, and business goals
Analyze performance metrics to identify trends, improve guest experience, and inform merchandising strategies
Oversee product categorization, online presentation, and promotional strategies to ensure a seamless guest journey and optimized site performance
Ensure site navigation, search, and product detail pages are intuitive and conversion-friendly
Partner with marketing, creative, and operations teams to execute campaigns, product launches, and enhance SEO
Ensure digital merchandising and promotional strategies are consistent with broader cross-channel initiatives, including stores, marketplaces, and marketing campaigns
Conduct competitive analysis to ensure strategies remain differentiated, relevant, and future-forward
Collaborate with technology teams to identify and implement site enhancements and tools to improve guest experience
Additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required
Minimum 4-6 years of buying/drop ship management experience
Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Able to communicate effectively with various audiences
Excellent merchandising skills and remain informed about the market
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Highly proficient in Excel
