Ecommerce Specialist & Developer

Job Summary

The E-commerce Specialist & Developer is responsible for both the technical development and operational management of the e-commerce website and mobile app. This role combines hands-on development work with platform management, integrations, performance optimization, and campaign execution. The position serves as a key technical owner of the e-commerce platforms, ensuring stability, scalability, and continuous improvement of the online shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Development & Technical Ownership

  • Develop, customize, and maintain e-commerce platforms using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and Liquid.
  • Customize Shopify themes, sections, templates, and checkout-related features.
  • Implement frontend enhancements and UX/UI improvements based on business requirements.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues across web and app platforms.
  • Review, optimize, and maintain code quality and performance.

2. Platform & Backend Management

  • Manage Shopify, Shopify Plus, and third-party applications, including configuration and optimization.
  • Handle backend setup for promotions, discounts, labels, and product rules.
  • Manage user roles and access across platforms and tools.
  • Integrate and maintain connectors with ERP, CRM, analytics, and marketing tools.

3. Task & Project Coordination

  • Create, track, and manage development and campaign tasks using Click Up or similar tools.
  • Act as the technical bridge between business teams, designers, developers, and external agencies.
  • Review technical deliverables and ensure accurate implementation before go-live.

4. Campaigns, Promotions & Automation

  • Develop and implement discount logic, AIOD promotions, BOGO offers, free gifts, and checkout incentives.
  • Ensure technical accuracy of banners, popups, collections, and promotional elements.
  • Support execution of email, push notification, and Whats App campaigns with technical validation.

5. Analytics, Performance & Optimization

  • Implement and maintain tracking via GA4, Google Tag Manager, and other analytics tools.
  • Monitor site performance, conversion rates, and user behaviour.
  • Use data insights to optimize UX, funnels, and sales performance.

6. Content & Localization Support

  • Support Arabic and English content implementation within themes and templates.
  • Ensure frontend labels, UX copy, and translations are technically accurate and properly displayed.

Web Development:

HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Liquid, MySQL

eCommerce Platforms:

Shopify, Shopify POS, Shopify Plus, WordPress, Woo Commerce, Magneto, Playtime

Email Marketing & CRM:

Klaviyo, One Signal, Pipe drive, Zapier

Analytics & Tracking:

Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager,

Power BI, Looker Studio, Microsoft Clarity

EDUCATION

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, E-commerce, Data Analytics, or related field.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • The Fundamentals of Digital Marketing
  • Google Analytics Individual Qualification (GAIQ)
  • Technical SEO Certification
  • SEO Fundamentals Certification

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in CRO, e-commerce analytics, or website optimization.
  • Knowledge of analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar, or similar).
  • Experience using Algolia or other site search tools is a plus.
  • Understanding of UX/UI principles and A/B testing.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
