Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Editor with a strong background in subscription-based and paywalled media to help lead the editorial strategy and content execution for a premium business news publication.

This senior editorial role requires someone with a deep understanding of the business, economic, and financial landscape in the Middle East, excellent editorial judgment, and a track record of producing impactful, high-quality journalism. The Editor will play a central role in shaping content, guiding the editorial team, and driving audience growth across digital, print, and multimedia platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Editorial Strategy:
  Define and execute the editorial vision, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, exclusive, and thought-provoking content across business, economic, and financial topics.
• Subscriber-Focused Content:
  Develop content strategies that drive subscriber acquisition, retention, and engagement.
• Team Leadership:
  Lead a team of journalists and editors to produce investigative reports, deep-dive analysis, and exclusive insights tailored for a paying audience.
• Data-Driven Decision Making:
  Use audience data and analytics to optimize content performance and identify growth opportunities.
• Multimedia Expansion:
  Oversee the growth of multimedia formats, including podcasts, video content, and newsletters to boost the brand’s digital presence.
• Cross-Department Collaboration:
  Work closely with commercial teams to align editorial and business goals, while safeguarding journalistic integrity.
• Industry Representation:
  Represent the publication at key business and economic events, building and maintaining relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders.
  

Requirements

• Editorial Experience:
  Proven experience in a senior editorial role within a subscription-based or paywalled publication, ideally covering business, economics, or financial news.
• Digital Publishing Knowledge:
  Strong understanding of digital content trends, paywall models, and audience analytics.
• Team Management:
  Experience leading editorial teams and working with contributors.
• Writing & Editing Skills:
  Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to communicate complex business and economic topics clearly.
• Industry Network:
  Established connections within business and economic sectors are advantageous.
• SEO & Audience Growth:
  Experience implementing SEO and audience engagement strategies in a digital-first environment.
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in editorial roles.
  
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality business and economic journalism for a professional audience.
  
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  
• Comfortable engaging with industry leaders and representing the brand publicly.
