Job Overview
The Swedenborg Foundation seeks a highly skilled, detail-driven Editor to join our publishing team and steward the editorial integrity of our books and written content. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Vice President of Publishing.

This role is ideal for an editor who is meticulous, disciplined, and tireless in the pursuit of excellence—someone who takes deep satisfaction in catching every error, holding consistency across complex projects, and bringing clarity and polish to meaningful work. You will step immediately into active projects, including books already in the publishing pipeline and ongoing reprints, while helping ensure that our editorial standards are upheld across platforms.

This role functions as the primary editor for the Foundation’s books and written content, with oversight and mentorship from the Vice President of Publishing. The Swedenborg Foundation is a spiritually grounded nonprofit and multimedia organization that continues to uphold book publishing as a core expression of its mission. We are seeking someone who is not only technically excellent, but genuinely enthusiastic about contributing their skills in a values-driven, purpose-centered environment.

Position Term & Funding Notice

This position is funded for the calendar year of 2026, contingent upon continued external funding. While it is our hope and intent that this role will become long-term, continued employment beyond 2026 is dependent on the continuation of current funding. In the event that funding is discontinued, the position would be terminated.
