Our client in the automotive industry is seeking a hybrid freelance Copy Editor/Proofreader to join their team on a 40-hour/week, ongoing engagement with potential to convert to full-time. This role will collaborate closely with internal creative teams and external translation partners to ensure all content meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and brand consistency.
Key Responsibilities:

Proofread and copy edit a wide range of materials, including POP collateral, signage, sales materials, dealer communications, digital content, web copy, and PDFs

Ensure all content aligns with AP style guidelines and SEO best practices

Review materials for ADA compliance and accessibility standards

Partner with internal stakeholders and creatives to maintain consistency across all deliverables

Collaborate with and manage third-party translation vendors to review and finalize foreign language content

Maintain accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:

5-10 years of experience in copy editing and/or proofreading, ideally within a corporate or agency setting

Experience working with project management tools such as Workfront (or similar platforms)

Strong understanding of AP style, grammar, and editing best practices

Familiarity with SEO content standards and digital copy optimization

Experience ensuring ADA compliance in written/digital content

Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not required
