Editorial Assistant

Techgen Media, a publishing house celebrating 15 years of covering the metals manufacturing and fabricating industries, is seeking a full-time Editorial Assistant to join our remote team.

At first glance, metals manufacturing may not sound flashy, but it touches some of the most exciting industry segments out there, including aerospace, shipbuilding and automotive manufacturing. Our editorial team covers a variety of innovative technologies and equipment, including lasers that cut and weld, robots that streamline production and software that is shaping the factories of the future. This is a unique opportunity for a recent journalism graduate eager to cut their teeth in trade publishing and learn how to translate complex technical information into clear, engaging content.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage social media accounts for five trade magazines across major platforms.

· Organize, edit and distill press releases for publication in magazine news sections.

· Assist with light editing tasks in line with AP Style.

· Support the editorial team with ad hoc administrative duties.

· Contribute to SEO-driven content projects to grow website traffic.

· As experience grows, write bylined articles and features for publication.

What We’re Looking For

· Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or a related field.

· Strong command of AP Style and excellent attention to detail.

· A curious mindset with the ability to learn about highly technical topics and make them accessible.

· Comfort with social media platforms and digital publishing tools.

· Organized, adaptable and eager to grow within a supportive editorial environment.

Compensation & Benefits

· Salary: $45,000/year
