Job Purpose:
The Editorial Coordinator provides administrative support for the commissioning, submission and review of manuscripts for publication across a range of research and review journals in the Wolters Kluwer Health collection.
Responsibilities:
Primary:

Acting as the go-between for our Editors, reviewers and authors, providing them with a high-quality service at all times - following up with their requests, queries and needs in a timely manner.

Commissioning content for journals and ensuring the efficient and timely publication of issues.

Processing new and revised manuscript submissions – ensuring content is correctly formatted in adherence with our house style.

Maintaining accurate records for each journal, keeping the Publisher and Managing Editor informed of any problems or potential delays to publication.

Maintaining and expanding reviewer databases.

Maintaining journal websites, ensuring content is up-to-date and journal information kept current.

Managing the coordination and processing of supplements.

Ensuring copyright rules and procedures are adhered to.

Processing/requesting payments for permissions, section editors and reviewers in a timely manner.

Compiling citation reports and other data as and when required.
Additional:

Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with production editors - liaise with them to advise of potential scheduling problems, should they arise.

Undertaking specified tasks on behalf of the editorial department.

Providing cover for colleagues if needed to ensure the smooth running of the department.
Experience:
This is an entry level position. Experience of working in publishing or a similar environment an advantage, but not essential.
Personal Attributes:

Computer literacy is essential: must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft office products – Word, Excel and PPT.

The ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with colleagues and customers at all levels in the organization.

Strong organizational skills – able to work under pressure, work to tight deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy in your work throughout.

Attention to detail is a must, as is the desire to learn.

Positive, proactive, can-do attitude - not easily flustered, and able to adapt easily to change.
Required Education Level: Should be full time Graduate (Any stream)
