Responsibilities


This is an exciting opportunity to serve as the dedicated library liaison to the Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences and other social science departments delivering high-impact research support and information literacy instruction to undergraduates, graduates, faculty, and research staff. You will shape and grow collections that keep FSU at the forefront of education and social science scholarship, while cultivating meaningful partnerships with a highly dynamic community of faculty and students. Embedded in a collaborative environment, you will work alongside fellow social and behavioral science librarians, digital research and scholarship specialists, and a rich network of campus partners, all united in advancing research, enriching teaching, and inspiring lifelong learning at FSU.

  • Serve as the primary liaison to Anne's College and assigned departments, cultivating strong faculty relationships and promoting awareness of library services, resources, and expertise.
  • Design and deliver a range of instructional activities including course-integrated instruction, workshops, online tutorials, and research guides tailored to Education and assigned departments, both online and in person.
  • Provide in-depth research consultations and support for advanced research activities including dissertations, theses, grant research, literature reviews, and citation management.
  • Identify, assess, and recommend materials across all formats, including curriculum materials, and collaborate with faculty to integrate information literacy into the curriculum.
  • Strengthen library-college partnerships through participation in college meetings, committees, and events; contribute to library-wide strategic initiatives including the Instruction Committee and Evidence Synthesis Support Group.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the library profession through presentations, publications, or leadership in relevant professional organizations.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an ALA-accredited library and information science program (or international equivalent), or an advanced degree or coursework in education or a social science field.
    Familiarity with education and social science literature, research methods, and key information resources.
  • A demonstrated commitment to public service and user-centered librarianship.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Evidence of instructional ability or teaching experience.
  • Familiarity with current trends in academic librarianship, scholarly communication, and information literacy.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment, engaging effectively with colleagues, students, and community members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise with education databases and social science databases.
  • Experience with systematic review methodologies and tools.
  • Knowledge of learning management systems and SpringShare LibApps.
  • Knowledge of citation management software.
  • Experience with collection development.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and AI-enabled tools for teaching and research relevant to education and social sciences.
  • Record of professional contribution through publications, presentations, or service.

Anticipated Salary Range


Salary starting at $60,000, commensurate with education and experience.
