Job Duties:
As an Education Consultant 3, a typical day will involve carrying out a variety of tasks and responsibilities that may include the following:

Provide support to the State Migrant Education Director;

Provide programmatic support to Migrant Education school systems ;

Review ESSA applications to ensure compliance with federal requirements;

Oversees and manages contracts from development, negotiation, internal contract procedures and implementation for ESSA;

Attend all internal and external meetings that pertain to work in the Division;

Reconciles MEP invoices and ensures vendors submit timely professional billing forms;
-
Oversees and maintains strict confidentiality of documents and records and verbal and written communication;
-
Coordinates and organizes projects, most without direction, schedules complex meetings and prepares materials such as agendas, timelines, reports and presentations;

Develops timelines, prepares work plans and sets agendas sometimes without review;
-
Works independently on special projects and other duties as assigned by the State Migrant Director and Director of Federal Support; and
-
Completes all other duties or special projects requested by Division leadership.
Position-Specific Details:Appointment Type: Job Appointment.
This Position will be filled as a temporary job appointment that may last up to 4 years. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office.
Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.
Work Schedule: Work days are Monday - Friday; work hours will be determined.
Compensation: The Education Consultant series have a special entrance rate (SER) of $28.97 that is above the minimum hire rate for these positions. The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
