Location: Nashville, TN (Rolling Hills & Plaza Mariachi sites)

Position Type: Part-Time In Person/ Remote Hybrid 20 hours a week

Compensation Range: $20- $22 per hour

Position Overview

The Aloe Family is seeking a dedicated and organized Education Coordinator to lead our after-school tutoring programs in Nashville. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between classroom learning and community-based tutoring for under-resourced, primarily Spanish speaking elementary, middle, and high school students. You will oversee the delivery of curriculum, manage educational data, facilitate arts and life skills programming, and equip our volunteers to provide high-quality, trauma-informed academic support to our students.

Key Responsibilities

1. Curriculum & Instructional Leadership

  • Implement and adapt The Aloe Family’s core curriculum alongside curated outside educational resources.
  • Coordinate directly with local schools to align tutoring efforts with students' current classroom materials and needs.
  • Train and mentor tutoring assistants and volunteers on effective teaching strategies and curriculum implementation.
  • Coordinate directly with outside specialists who will provide workshops and resources in arts, music, design etc to our middle and high school students.

2. Program Operations & Logistics

  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic progress (grades).
  • Generate and submit weekly reports to the Program Director and Executive Director detailing activities, student milestones, and upcoming learning plans.
  • Develop monthly materials lists and collaborate with the Program Director for procurement and budgeting.

3. Site Supervision & Support

  • Provide consistent, on-site leadership during all tutoring sessions.
  • Manage classroom dynamics to ensure a safe, productive, and encouraging learning environment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and volunteers during session hours.

Required Schedule

Must be able to attend all scheduled sessions:

  • Monday & Wednesday: 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM (After- school tutoring at Rolling Hills)
  • Tuesday & Thursday: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM (After-school tutoring at Plaza Mariachi)
  • Saturday Community Days: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Up to two Saturdays off per month)
  • Additional Hours: Includes weekly staff meetings, lesson prep time, and school collaboration meetings.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience in classroom management and/or academic program coordination.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
  • Training: Must be willing to undergo specialized training in Trauma-Informed Care (provided by The Aloe Family).
  • Skills: Strong leadership and organizational skills, proficiency in data entry (attendance/grades), and excellent communication for reporting and school networking.
  • Heart for Mission: A passion for empowering underserved communities and a commitment to the "Aloe Bridge" philosophy of holistic growth.
  • Spanish-speaking preferred
