Job Focus Area
The Primary job duties/responsibilities assigned to this position lie in the Office of Assessments Accountability and Analytics. This position will oversee Louisiana Department of Education's (LDOE) scholarship and non-public reporting. Additionally this person is responsible to support research and analytic activities to validate data collections and collaborate with internal program staff to produce data for various reporting needs. Furthermore, the analyst will perform other data tasks critical to the Department’s mission.

The ideal candidate should have experience with data analysis and working with large datasets, attention to data quality/accuracy, and the ability to organize data into meaningful reports. Proficiency with one or more statistical software packages such as SSMS, SAS, SPSS, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

A master's degree in education, statistics, mathematics, or in a data analytics, data management, information technology, or social sciences field.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

As an Education Research Analyst 1/2/3, you will analyze large datasets, ensure data accuracy, using statistical software such as SSMS, SAS, or SPSS. In this role, you will:

  • Oversees validation and statistical analysis of scholarship data using advanced analytical methods.
  • Designs and implements data quality assurance efforts, including audits, validations, and corrective actions for the evolving policy and program needs.
  • Provides guidance on data collection, submission protocols, and compliance with state reporting requirements.
  • Manages the design, review, and release of high-quality reports and publications for internal offices and external requests.
  • Develops and manages program measurement standards that align with state and federal accountability systems.
  • Implements data governance practices and ensures integration of data across systems and programs.
  • Recommends data collection strategies and evaluation frameworks to support continuous improvement and decision-making.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.
Work Location: The person hired for this position is expected to report to the Baton Rouge office as requested.
Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as an Education Research Analyst 1/2/3, depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.
Work Schedule: Workdays are Monday - Friday; work hours will be determined.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The Education Research Analyst series have a Special Entrance Rate (SER) that is above the minimum hire rate for these positions. The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire. The SERs and pay range for each level are as follows:
Education Research Analyst 1 (TS-309)
Hourly: $22.98 – $35.33
Monthly: $3,984.06 – $6,124.00
Annually: $54,735.00 – $73,486.00

Education Research Analyst 2 (TS-311)
Hourly: $26.31 – $40.45
Monthly: $4,561.27 – $7,011.00
Annually: $54,735.00 – $84,136.00

Education Research Analyst 3
(TS-313)
Hourly: $30.12 – $46.31
Monthly: $5,221.67 – $8,027.00
Annually: $62,660.00 – $96,325.00
